Fleet CO₂ Emissions Calculator
Measure your fleet's annual carbon footprint in tonnes of CO₂e — and see how much of it telematics can eliminate. Built for UAE Net Zero 2050 and climate-law-era fleet reporting.
FLEET FOOTPRINT / YEAR
338 tCO₂e
≈ 28.1 t per month · 13.5 t per vehicle per year · 322 g/km tailpipe
AVOIDABLE WITH TELEMATICS
60.8 tCO₂e (−18%)
Idling reduction (7%) + route optimisation (6%) + eco-driving coaching (5%) — every avoided litre also saves money at the pump.
16,080
mature trees needed to absorb this every year
73
average passenger cars' annual emissions
Fuel burned: 10,500 L/month across the fleet. Factors: diesel 2.68, petrol 2.31 kg CO₂e per litre (DEFRA/IPCC combustion factors).
FLEET CO2 CALCULATOR
How do you calculate a fleet's CO2 emissions?
Multiply litres of fuel burned by the fuel's emission factor: 2.68 kg CO2e per litre of diesel or 2.31 kg CO2e per litre of petrol (DEFRA/IPCC combustion factors). A 25-van UAE delivery fleet driving 3,500 km per vehicle monthly at 12 L/100km emits roughly 338 tonnes of CO2e per year. GPS telematics typically cuts this 13-18% through idling reduction, route optimisation and eco-driving coaching — relevant since UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 11 of 2024 requires businesses to measure and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
How the numbers are calculated
Fuel-based calculation — the most accurate GHG accounting method when fuel data is known. Every factor is standard, editable and sourced.
| Factor | Value used | Source & notes |
|---|---|---|
| Diesel emission factor | 2.68 kg CO₂e/L | Standard DEFRA/IPCC fuel combustion factor for diesel. |
| Petrol emission factor | 2.31 kg CO₂e/L | Standard DEFRA/IPCC fuel combustion factor for petrol. |
| Idling reduction | 7% | 5–10% documented range — fuel consumption reduction guide. |
| Route optimisation | 6% | 5–8% documented range — fuel management guide. |
| Eco-driving coaching | 5% | 5–10% documented range — driver behaviour guide. Applied only with driver behaviour monitoring. |
| Equivalents | 21 kg · 4.6 t | One mature tree absorbs ~21 kg CO₂ per year; an average passenger car emits ~4.6 tonnes per year (EPA figure). |
Estimates are for planning and awareness. For formal GHG disclosure under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 11 of 2024, use metered fuel data and confirm reporting scope with MOCCAE.
How fleets actually cut emissions
Every avoided litre is ~2.7 kg of CO₂ that never leaves the exhaust — and money that stays in your budget.
