SALIK & DARB 2026

How much do Salik and Darb tolls cost in 2026?

Salik (Dubai) charges AED 6.30 per crossing at peak — Monday to Saturday 6–10am and 4–8pm — AED 4.20 off-peak and all day Sunday, and nothing between 1am and 6am; the rates include 5% VAT since 1 June 2026. Darb (Abu Dhabi) charges AED 4 per crossing at its four bridge gates only during peak hours, Monday to Saturday 7–9am and 3–7pm, with no daily or monthly cap since 1 September 2025, and AED 4 around the clock at the Al Qurm and Ghantoot gates opened on 4 May 2026. A 10-van Dubai fleet making four charged Salik crossings a day, 60% at peak, pays about AED 5,700 a month; moving 30% of those peak crossings off-peak saves about AED 390 a month.

Salik & Darb — FAQ

Since 1 June 2026 Salik tolls include 5% VAT: AED 6.30 per crossing during peak hours (Monday to Saturday, 6–10am and 4–8pm), AED 4.20 during off-peak hours (10am–4pm and 8pm–1am) and all day on Sundays, and free between 1am and 6am every day. On public holidays and major events the weekday schedule applies. Variable pricing itself started on 31 January 2025.
Passing Al Safa North and Al Safa South on Sheikh Zayed Road in the same direction within one hour is charged once, and the same applies to Al Mamzar North and Al Mamzar South on Al Ittihad Road. Every other gate — Al Barsha, Jebel Ali, Al Garhoud Bridge, Al Maktoum Bridge, Business Bay Crossing and Airport Tunnel — charges on every crossing. Enter charged crossings in the calculator, not gates passed.
The four bridge gates (Sheikh Zayed, Sheikh Khalifa, Al Maqta and Mussafah bridges) charge AED 4 per crossing only during peak hours, Monday to Saturday 7–9am and 3–7pm; crossings at other times, on Sundays and on public holidays are free. The AED 16 daily and AED 200/150/100 monthly caps were removed on 1 September 2025, so every peak crossing now counts. The Al Qurm and Ghantoot gates, live since 4 May 2026, charge AED 4 per crossing 24 hours a day. Commercial fleets register vehicles under a company Darb account with the trade licence.
Three levers: timing (a Salik crossing moved from peak to off-peak saves AED 2.10, a Darb bridge crossing moved off-peak saves the full AED 4), routing (avoid gates entirely where a parallel road costs less time than the toll) and eliminating unauthorised trips (personal use of company vehicles shows up as weekend and late-night crossings). GPS telematics with a geofence on every gate reports exactly which vehicle crossed which gate at what time, so dispatch can move the runs that can move.
No. Only Dubai (Salik) and Abu Dhabi (Darb) operate road tolls; Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain have none. Vehicles registered in any emirate pay when crossing a gate — the toll is tied to the number plate via a Salik tag or Darb registration. Unregistered crossings attract fines on top of the toll.
